Why choose Duquesne University for your online MSN‑FNP degree?

Our online BSN to FNP master’s degree is based upon criteria set by the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty (NONPF). In addition, we employ the Synergy Model for Patient Care, developed by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). The Synergy Model is built around the belief that the needs or characteristics of patients and families influence the nurse’s characteristics or competencies.

Work Full Time. Learn Full Time.

To build those competencies, we’ve developed a robust curricular approach that encourages the holistic development of our students. Because our program is designed for you to learn and become a nurse practitioner while working full time, we ensured several supports throughout this rigorous learning process to help students meet realistic expectations and reasonably balance personal responsibilities with academic requirements.

Prepare to Grow in Your Nursing Career.

Earning your MSN-FNP from Duquesne University can prepare you to thrive in a rapidly growing field. Per the calculations of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the nurse practitioner job outlook is extremely optimistic, with an expected growth rate of 38 percent, much faster than average. So as you pursue the next step in your nursing career, you’ll have the opportunity to make a greater impact on the lives of patients you serve — and develop skills that are in demand throughout the healthcare industry.

“We want our nurse practitioners to not only know what to do — but also understand why they’re doing it.”
